Personal Training and Coaching

The Art of Fitness is different from traditional personal training. This is not a beat you up and tear you down workout. This is the an exploratory approach to developing a solid foundation of movement through positive improvement and encouragement. It is working from the ground up to develop the building blocks of real strength, power, endurance, skill, and movement potential. From the moment you walk through the door, I will be continuously inspecting and analyzing your movement quality through various forms of movement assessments. You will be under my expert eye to ensure that we create a conscious purposeful Personalized Exercise Program designed to improve joint mobility, core stability, strength, power, balance, control, and skill. A typical session begins with a few minutes of feedback and review. I will ask about how your body is feeling or what has or hasn’t been working with your current exercise program. We will then go into some movement assessment. I will have you perform a movement such as lunging, squatting, walking, or running. Depending upon what I see in this assessment, we’ll go into some movement exploration exercises. We will work on proper technique and form. I’ll perform a demonstration with specific coaching cues to perform the exercise correctly. I break movement down into it’s simplest most rudimentary starting point to help you develop a solid foundation. I want you to own each movement. To develop it as a solid skill that can be performed with ease and grace. Once you’ve developed a solid movement foundation, I add complexity, variety, intensity, as well as sports specific training to build super solid strength and power. This is where you will see massive payoffs. This is where you will see results. Through this exploratory process, I will choose the exercises that provide the biggest bang for your buck. These exercises will be your take home Personalized Exercise Program. I will have you shoot a video of me demonstrating and coaching the exercises. Later that day, I will email you a Youtube link to your Personalized Exercise Program. Your house will not stand the test of time without a solid foundation. The same can be said for your body and movement. This is the focus of our Personal Training and Coaching, to build you a solid movement foundation. This is the groundwork we must lay to keep you pain and injury free; nurture a deeper connection to your body; and will lead to greater efficiency, endurance, balance, strength, and power. With a solid foundation of movement, you will raise to new levels of fitness and health, and have the confidence in your body’s ability to strive towards and reach your greatest goals.
